AFHCAN software is designed to support existing clinical relationships between organizations. The “Enterprise Solution” allows autonomous health care organizations to share multimedia telehealth data in a controlled, secure and robust manner consistent with HIPAA Privacy and Security Requirements.

The Software uses a unique "routing" protocol and industry-standard encryption to move data between servers and organizations. Multiple servers connected to a wide-area network or able to "browse" to the internet can send and receive data with each other - with Administrative-level security and access controls in place.

Industry standard PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) provides secure server-to-server communication:
- Data is encrypted for the “end site”
- Data is signed by the originating site
- Data is guaranteed against corruption
