Working Around Poor Connectivity
AFHCAN software is designed to work in environments with low bandwidth or poor / intermittent connectivity. A recent experience demonstrated that AFHCAN software continued to send cases from a remote village clinic on the Aleutian Islands over satellite connectivity that was too poor to permit phone, fax, email, or internet connection.
Features include:
- A unique “packetizing” technology that breaks the data into small packets for transmission.
- Multiple retry attempts (for up to 24 hours) to send data.
- Only the minimally required data set is sent between servers – e.g. images are not resent if each server already has them.
- “State machine” architecture guarantees the user data is not lost when a user loses a connection with a server. All data is retained for the time connectivity is restored.
