Manage Favorites

The Favorites link in the first column of tConsult Web is provided as an adaptable section for users.  It can be used to help organize cases or have easy access to cases that are referred to regularly.  A favorites preference can be assigned to a group, where everyone in the group will see cases flagged for a specific favorite, or a favorite preference can be set up for individual user access.

Favorite labels must be created.  Once a label has been created, cases can be assigned to it.

To create a favorite label:

Step 1:       From the first column, click on the Edit Favorites link at the bottom of the Favorites section.

The Favorites window opens.

Any existing favorites are listed in this window, with the option to delete the favorite or edit it.  Note that editing a favorite means editing the name of it, not the ownership.

Step 2:       In the text box in the Favorite column, enter the name of the favorite.

Step 3:       Select the owner from the drop-down menu.  If you are the owner, the favorite is only displayed in your profile.  If you select a group to have ownership, the favorite will appear in all profiles associated with the group.  Note that only your profile and groups with which you are associated appear in the drop-down menu.

Step 4:       Click on the add new button.  The favorite is added to the list.  The label exists, but cases still need to be associated with it.

To add cases to a favorite:

A favorite label must exist before a case can be associated with it.  You have the option of adding a favorite label when you are assigning cases as well.

Step 1:       With the case open, click on the Favorites link in the Case Options tab.

The Favorites window opens specifically for the case.  In the example below, this case has been assigned to Rare Conditions, which is noted at the top.

If a favorite label you wish to use does not yet exist, click on the Edit Favorites link at the bottom of the window.  See details for creating a favorite label above.

Step 2:       Click the Add link to assign the corresponding favorite label.  Note that a case can belong to multiple labels. Click the remove link to clear the favorite label from the case.

Step 3:       When finished adding a case to favorites, click on the X to close the window.  The case will now appear in all favorites to which it was assigned.
