Use Focus Tool
The otoscope head used with the Welch Allyn AMD-300S is difficult to focus while used in the ear canal. A focus tool is provided on the cart to allow the fine focus to happen before using it on a patient. Not all otoscope devices require use of the focus tool.
Step 1: With the image enhancement feature on, insert the barrel of the ear scope into the focus tool.
Step 2: While viewing the image on the screen (you may need to click on the button to see the live video image), slowly rotate the focus ring of the otoscope until it is focused.
