Enterprise Wide Solutions
AFHCAN software supports an enterprise-wide telehealth solution – allowing the 42 deployed servers throughout the state to communicate and share telehealth data. This is the third generation of AFHCAN’s easy-to-use web-based software application. The enterprise approach allows autonomous health care organizations to share multimedia telehealth data in a controlled, secure and robust manner.

The servers connect through intermediary “node” servers, which act as secure waypoints from which servers push and pull telehealth data. Using signing, encrypting, packetizing and selective acknowledgement techniques, the data may be moved in small secure packets to and from this node using standard browsing ports. This server-to-server technique typically requires no changes in organizational firewalls, while providing high performance and reliability over poor connectivity found in remote regions.
The advent of “multimode” programming further extends this approach by having a system of nodes interconnect in a hierarchical fashion. This allows autonomous networks to connect their nodes through a single Internet node. It also allows organizations with multiple servers to restrict the health care traffic within their network and their node, except when communicating with a server located on a distant network / node.
The AFHCAN software supports the ability for each server to receive code updates from a trusted “code update server”. This technology provides a fast, efficient, and secure method for simultaneous code updates to all connected servers.
